Your mission will be to take BCI into new customers, ideally leveraging your existing contacts, in one of two territories: the Mississippi Gulf Coast or the New Orleans area; overnight travel will be rare. You'll also keep and manage your accounts, enabling you to grow your business exponentially year after year. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have a track record of meeting and exceeding targets selling technology in one or more of the following verticals: higher education/state & local government, commercial/enterprise, and/or small to medium sized businesses. We're looking for a professional with a background in structured sales programs, including managing the pipeline, forecasting sales, etc. The ideal candidate will have a Cisco, EMC, or Sun background.

In a nutshell, you will partner with customers through a strategic and consultative sales approach to understand their business needs, issues, strategies, and priorities to deliver value-adding business solutions. You'll join a team of 18 Account Executives across five states serving businesses in all industry verticals. We also have two inside sales support professionals, as well as a strong supporting cast including Pre-Sales teams in each territory. At the same time, pivotal to your success will be your autonomy in developing and executing the sales plan for your territory.
In any of the three territories your focus will be on new business, and you won't be limited by the size of target companies; rather, we'll look to you to identify the highest potential market sectors. We have a variety of marketing campaigns underway to help generate leads, but you'll also need to come up with leads on your own; relationships drive our business, and you'll work your established network contacts among other strategies. While your focus will be on new business, you'll manage the accounts you land as well, and rather than transitioning those accounts away from you over time, we'll expect you to continue to grow them. Just as we have strong pre-sales support, we also have project management teams to help manage the accounts.
You'll work out of an office in each territory (Gulfport or New Orleans) and while you'll definitely spend time in the field, there won't be much overnight travel.

Ours is not a high-pressure sales environment, as deals tend to be a better fit for us if they happen naturally -- we think lunch is the best selling hour in every day. At the same time, we all assume accountability for protecting this culture by meeting and exceeding our objectives.
